Hood proposes the Bistar cut for all racing genoas and jibs.
In jibs the full batten is used at the head to give better control of shapes in the upper section, whereas the other battens are of normal length.
Carbon sailcloths are proposed for all genoas on sailboats above 40' but only for medium-wind genoas upward on smaller boats: the proposal for the latter is a Kevlar light-wind genoa.
The same applies for jibs.
As in the case of mainsails, there are many combinations of sailcloth available for foresails to suit all levels of budget. |
